character.

FULL NAME: Sally-Anne Perks
AGE/BIRTHDAY: Nov. 23rd

Ravenclaw Sagittarians are the philosophers of the magical world. They love pure theory, pure mathematics, and anything that appeals to their yearning for far horizons, whether those horizons be physical (in which case they will do a lot of traveling) or mental. They excel at astrology and research, and have the rare gift of both being able to investigate a subject deeply and then being able to explain it to other people in plain language. This makes for excellent teaching potential. They are cheerful, athletic, brisk, and humorous, and also decidedly eccentric. Sometimes they get on people's nerves, because they don't have as many interpersonal skills as they seem to think they have, but it's hard to stay mad at a Ravenclaw Sagittarian for very long. They're just too goofy. (hp ast. site)

GENDER: Female
BIRTHPLACE: Coventry, England.
BLOOD: Half-blood
HOUSE/YEARS: 91-98 Ravenclaw
SPECIAL SKILLS: Sal is very strong in Charms and Arithmancy
OCCUPATION: Teller at Gringotts
SEXUAL PREFERENCES: Heterosexual

PERSONALITY:

Sally-Anne is not one to take things sitting down. She is stubborn, opinionated, and quite proud of herself. She is also prone to acting selfishly though she never quite means to act like a brat and will often feel guilty when she recognizes what she’s doing.

Sally-Anne is very dedicated which served her well academically, but not socially. She is a very good friend once she is able to find common ground with another individual, but she is a bit awkward and blunt which causes some issues when it comes to people being able to relate to her. However, once she strikes a friendship with someone she is loyal almost to the point of stupidity as she fears losing the friend.

Sally-Anne is not a follower by any stretch of the imagination. Instead, she speaks openly and often about what matters to her. Unfortunately, she comes across as brash and unfeeling to some as a result.

Despite her bold nature, Sally-Anne, deep down, is rather insecure in her own skin. She isn’t a natural beauty though she isn’t ugly. She isn’t popular or unpopular. She is, instead, average which causes her to not understand her place in life as she constantly feels on the cusp of whatever group she is with.

Sally-Anne has a fine mind when it comes to academics. She may not have been the top girl, but she achieved very good marks. She understood most subjects after only a quick reading of the material. She studied some, but did not have to put a whole lot of effort into most.

Wand: (http://www.quizilla.com/cgi-bin/result/result.pl)

Wood: almond
Inches: 8
Core: unicorn

Patronus:

Sally-Anne can't produce one, but if she could it would be a bald eagle as it symbolizes the freedom that she so yearns for.

Boggart:

Sally-Anne's biggest fear is being alone. She honestly likes people even if she doesn't fit in with most.

Things Sal loves:

1. Family (Even is she tells her sister she hates her on a weekly basis).
2. Her mates.
3. Sweets, especially chocolate.
4. Fruity scents (she sometimes douses herself with wayyyyy too much)
5. Furry things. Yes, furry things. She brought a blanket from home because she can't sleep without its furry little blue material around her.

Things Sal hates:

1. Ignorance. She fully believes all people are capable of being loved and understood if given a chance. There are two sides to every coin, right?
2. Feeling left out. Sadly, Sally-Anne often feels this way if her best mate happens to be busy.
3. Corn. It is yellow, smelly, and GROSS.
4. Mismatched outfits. Did they get dressed in the dark?
5. Her parents harping on her to pick a 'real' career.

Things about Sal that no one else knows:

1. She has seriously crushed on one wizard in each house.
2. She broke a tooth playing pretend Quidditch when she was seven.
3. She'd rather eat dirt than admit she's scared of anything.
4. She wet the bed until she was six.

Strengths:

Loyal, trustworthy, honest, hard-working, forgiving, willing to give most anyone a real chance

Weaknesses:

Naïve, blunt, insecure to a degree, inability to connect with most people, selfish outlook

FAMILY:

Family Members:

• Grandmother: Abigail Perry (full-blood)
• Grandfather: Michael Perks (muggle)
• Father: Kevin Perks (half-blood))
• Mother: Rosa Sinclair (full-blood)
• Sister: Loren Perks (half-blood)

Owl/Pets/Familiars: Owl called Lola. A one year old dog called Hope.

Relationship With Family:

Abigail Perry was a full blooded witch who married a muggle named Michael Perks. The couple gave birth to one child, a boy called Kevin. The family itself was close as Michael had been welcomed by Abigail’s parents. However, as Voldermort rose to power, the Perry family’s need for self-preservation caused them to cut off contact with Abigail, her husband, and son who was a young adult by that time.

Perhaps the Perrys made the correct choice as Abigail and Michael vanished near the conclusion of the war, thus leaving Kevin to lament their assumed deaths alone. He despised Voldermort and his followers for killing his parents; it was this reason that propelled him to marry a full blooded witch, Rosa Sinclair, who had been a year behind him at Hogwarts. He was afraid of marrying a muggle and having his own children go through what he had. Sally-Anne was born soon after the marriage and was the doted upon only child for five years. At that time, her little sister, Loren, was born.

Sally-Anne was envious of the attention the new child received, but, in time, she began to enjoy her laugh and chubby armed hugs. Presently, she is her chief priority and she will not let anyone, even their parents, hurt her.

Sally-Anne was a difficult child. She threw tantrums and demanded constant attention. Her sister was easier going, and subsequently, seemed to be their parents’ favorite child. Sally-Anne sensed this and rebelled further. However, going away to Hogwarts helped Sal to mature and presently she's close to her parents though, like all families, they have their spats. After all, she may be an adult, but she's still their little girl!

HISTORY:

Sal exhibited her first signs of magical tendencies when she was four years old. She was yelling over her mother’s refusal to give her a cookie when suddenly the cookie jar spilled over. Sally-Anne was not frightened by her powers as she had seen her parents use magic her entire life. She had simply assumed she would too one day. In fact, she welcomed the idea. She hated that she couldn’t do all the spells everyone around her could as she didn’t fancy being left out.

Her letter from Hogwarts was also expected. Her father had attended as a boy and was a proud Ravenclaw. Her mother had been a Hufflepuff. Thus, when Sally-Anne was ready to be sorted, she knew she’d be placed in one or the other. She didn’t really know anything about the other houses as her parents wanted her to learn things for herself, but she simply assumed the hat would give her a house that her parents had been sorted into.

The hat wasted little time in recognizing Sally-Anne as a Ravenclaw. As a small child she had developed a natural zeal and thirst for knowledge. Sally-Anne was not satisfied in knowing that something was ‘blue.’ She wanted to know why! As such, she had constantly pestered her parents with questions and devoured books, magazines, and, later on, newspapers.

Sally-Anne’s thirst for knowledge doesn’t stop with facts and figures. She is curious about the world around her, including the psyche of the mind. She is fascinated by those interested in the Dark Arts and pure-blood ideals as she cannot understand what propels them to think themselves better than the rest of the wizarding world. She wants to know what makes them tick. She wants to understand them and, maybe, possibly, be part of changing their outlook. She wants the world to be a better place even if she doesn’t always go about it the right way.

In school, Sally-Anne fit in best with her house though even there she was sometimes seen as the ‘oddball’ as she didn't censor her speech enough to suit her housemates’ taste. Nonetheless, Sally-Anne knew she could count on them to have her interests at heart. However, she sometimes angered the other Houses in her quest to understand, if not psychoanalyze, them.

While in school, Sally-Anne made one real close mate in her House. They were inseparable sometimes to the point of irritation for those needing a word alone with one or the other. That friendship continues to this day and is something Sally-Anne cannot do without. (I'm not naming the friend as it would be great to get a played one and I don't want to godmod).

Thanks not only to her awkwardness, but her brashness, Sally-Anne never had a serious romantic relationship. She spent countless nights crying into her pillow over this, thinking she was too fat or ugly for a boy to take notice. For this reason, she became a bit vain once she learned about beauty charms, often spending hours trying to perfect herself. Luckily, as a young adult, she has mostly grown away from this phase in life.

Like most students, Sally-Anne was curious about the weird happenings at Hogwarts. Possessed professors? Muggle-born killers? Harry Potter? She often asked questions, trying to figure out the crazy events and was irritated when she could find little more than the normal gossip. Nonetheless, she was too intimated to ask Harry, or even Hermione or Ron, what exactly was going on. Sally-Anne may be blunt and unthinking sometimes, but even she had a small case of hero worship for the boy and his mates who seemed to defeat evil around every corner.

Upon leaving school, Sally-Anne took some time to 'find herself.' She was disenchanted with her world and its danger after Voldemort's reign of terror and so she lived in the muggle world, hiding her magical skills unless she really didn't want to do the dishes. She worked as a waitress which served her people watching skills well, but left her less than academically challenged. However, her interest in the wizarding world continued and she realized her place was within the wizarding society where she could wholly embrace who she is. As such, she poked around and finally found a few old Ravenclaw house-mates who had an extra room. She happily moved in and quickly found a job as a teller at Gringotts Bank.

She is actively seeking a boyfriend, or more specifically, a husband. Even though she's only in her 20s, she's fretting that she will become an old maid. Many around her are seriously dating and she has barely even kissed a man! Thus, she tries too hard, frequenting The Three Broomsticks, and asking all her mates to set her up with a good catch.

Still, Sally-Anne is very academically inclined and really wishes to move beyond the bank. She likes meeting all sorts of people, but she doesn't find the work very challenging. Even with her reading on the side, Sally-Anne feels as if her brain is going to mush. However, thanks to her wide interests, she may never really feel 'right' in any one job. She secretly worries about this idea, but doesn't admit it to anyone, even her parents or sister.

Currently, she is a typical young adult trying to find her way. However, her serious nature and social awkward skills still very much makes Sally-Anne the 'odd man out.'

PHYSICAL: Sally-Anne is sweet looking though not a supermodel. She's about average height with a slender build. She lacks curves and is forever lamenting her hips which stick out a bit. She has natural blond hair and blue eyes that light up when she's excited. Her eyes are very expressive in that she tells with them what she cannot with her words. She has pale skin with a pinkish tint and favors dressing in typical 'girly' fashions.

First Person roleplaying: Character journals here

Plot Ideas?: Again, due to the Quidditch nature, I'd love to get her involved in that world --- maybe something financially driven given her job at the bank.
